Huw James and Edgar Jones gained a start to finish victory from Brian Hardman and Paul Jackson while Kevin Jones and Rosalind Goodall took third spot, the three podium crews all in 2-litre Escort Mk2's.

James/Jones were quickest over the first stage by three seconds from Hardman/Jackson, but times were reversed on the second to even things up. The second lap of three stages saw James pinch two seconds off Hardman and that was maintained, neither crew giving in until the end.

Ken Pugh/Ifan Rowlands entered a newly acquired Lancer Evo 3 and won the over 2-litre class, Jon Madoc-Jones/Jon Thomas (Renault 5 GT) second and Mark Skillicorn/Karl Hughes (Escort Cosworth) third.

The 1600 class promised a close battle, Chris Phillips/Sarah Hughes taking victory from Gavin Edwards/Geraint Williams, both in 106 GTI's. Late entry Ian Jones/Alan Williams (Citroën C2 R2) were in contention but a time-consuming off cost them any chance, third in class going to the Nova of Alan Evans/Catrin Roberts who proved their seeding of 26 completely wrong!

Shane Richards/Nigel Stephenson won the 1400 class on a tie-break from son-father crew Alistair and David Oram, both crews in Novas. Third spot went to Martyn Quant/Aled Pennant in a Corsa.

Just two crews finished in the Road Rally car class, Steve Bishop/Roger Titley (Escort) taking the win from stage rally virgin Carwyn Evans/Paul Roberts who had several moments in his Escort.

Alwyn and Alwena Frazer won the 1000cc class in their Nissan Micra, and Danny Postlethwaite/Aled Jones (205 GTI) took the Trophy Rally over the second half of the rally, having retired from a top ten position when the balljoint snapped on stage 4.
